To benefit the Home Inspection Community we have published the comprehensive Standards of Practice Guide for Residential Home Inspectors in New York State. Obtained from the prestigious Housing Inspection Foundation, www.iami.org  It is our belief that Home Inspectors will be required to follow guidelines uniform to the Industry and to fellow inspectors everywhere. The following represents Uniform Standards of Practice for Residential Home Inspectors as published by the Housing Inspection Foundation. New York State, to date has not adopted any specific Standards of Practice. Once they do, we will publish it here. If NYS permits individual members the right to meet National Association Standards, each Inspector would be required to follow the Standards of their  Association. Once NYS adopts a set of Specific Standards, we plan to publish it here.
